Biomedical Sciences Research
Home Biomedical Sciences Research represents the research activities of the University in the areas of Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry and Health-related topics. Members of the Institute undertake leading edge research in real-world areas, including the detection and treatment of parasitic diseases, and the development of new forms of cancer chemotherapy.

Much of the cancer research is funded through the Kidscan children's charity. Members are also supported in their work by major funding bodies such as the Research Councils and Wellcome Trust, and collaborate with other leading scientists in the UK and abroad.
The Research Institute works closely with the Centre for Rehabilitation and Human Performance Research (CRHPR)   (http://www.ihscr.salford.ac.uk/CRHPR/index) with collaborative projects and a common submission to the Research Assessment Exercise.   An exciting new development is the collaboration with NHS clinical researchers at Salford Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, which promises to strengthen our real-world research in biomedicine.
